10+2 or its equivalent.
Fashion Technology : Passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education Fashion Technology. The minimum qualification required for a candidate to join the graduate course in fashion technology is a pass in class 10+2.
Fashion Designer : Pass in Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent recognized examination. There is no restriction with regard to the marks secured in Senior Secondary Examination or subjects studied. There is no restriction with regard to the age of the candidate or marks secured in Senior Secondary Examination or subjects studied.
Fashion Technology : Bachelor degree with minimum 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST candidate) or any other equivalent qualification. Some of the very reputed universities and colleges conduct entrance examination for admission to the degree course.
Fashion Designer : UG Degree from any Institute / University recognized in India or Diploma in UG Design from NIFT/NID only. UG Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.
** Entrance Test: Eligible candidates need to appear for the written test i.e Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT) conducted by the college. Situation Test: Shortlisted candidates will be called for Situation Test based on the score obtained in CAT and GAT. Counselling: Admission is through counselling based on the rank obtained in CAT/ GAT or Situation test score and performance in Group Discussion/ Personal Interview. Selection parameters and weightages: CAT: 50%, GAT: 30%, Situation Test: 20% For candidates belonging to Foreign Nationals / SAARC / NRI category, admission is on the basis of SAT score. In case seats remain vacant for NRI category, students belonging to “Children/Wards of NRI” category with valid Common Merit Rank (CMR) can apply by giving a special NRI Test. The students must appear for an entrance examination to gain admission into the courses offered. Most of the institutions of fashion designing will carry out a situation test, interview and a group discussion to enrol students.
The admission processes is done through the Entrance examination. The selection will be based on the score obtained in the Entrance exam. The application forms can be collected either from the respective University/College Campus or one can collect the form through online.The application forms are available through Post, on request.
